How’s Twitter going? I have yet to really grok the whole twitter thing…

Well, it’s hard to explain, but I’m starting to get a handle on it. I’d say give it a try. You can get to my Twitter from my My Profiles sidebar there, and I’m now linked with about a dozen library type folks. Once you’re in, see how people are using twitter – mostly it’s three categories: miniblog, away message, and resources. miniblogs are just snippets of things. They’re short though, so not so much of a timesink as bigger blogs. On the other hand, not much there. away messages are handy for internal organizations or groups of friends in other contact with each other, so only moderately helpful to me, with only a few geographically local contacts. Resources are an interesting use, but very hit and miss – either the resource looks interesting or it doesn’t.
